Accountant - Insurance (FTC 4months)

A position for an Accountant (C5) Insurance, for a fixed term contract of 4 months, will become available in mid-January 2018. Should you be interested and meet the requirements for this position, kindly submit your CV.
To maintain the financial reporting systems and report on all financial activities and on variances between budgets.
To maintain financial administration systems and implement internal controls through the implementation of policies and procedures.
To assist the manager in supervising the human resources of the department as well as the risk appetite and provide the required inputs, evaluations and feedback to ensure the effective functioning of the team.
To establish and maintain the budgeting system and assist in the quarterly reviews.
To assist in the management of the budget to control the department expenditure within agreed budget allocations.
To manage the completeness and accuracy of monthly and other financial statements by ensuring that the information has been verified according to policies and procedures.
To implement sound financial management by planning, directing and managing the activities, ensuring efficient discharge of accounting obligations in line with legislation.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
3 years degree in Accounting i.e. B.Com (Accounting)/ B Tech(Administrative Management Financial).
Preferable BCompt with Honours in Accounting.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
At least 2 years relevant financial experience after the completion of articles signed off by SAICA/SAIPA.
Sufficient supervisory experience.
SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
Computer literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Good Interpersonal skills.
Time management skills.
