Face-to-face (F2F) fundraising is a direct marketing approach in public spaces used by non-profit organisations to acquire monthly debit order donors. It has in recent years become a major source of income for many non-profit organisations around the world, including WWF. The technique requires field fundraisers in shopping centres and other public spaces to approach individuals in order to raise awareness and funds in support of critical conservation issues facing our planet. By securing long term donations, WWF is able to plan ahead with secured annuity income to support our work.

The Face-to-Face Sales Manager will assist the Individual Fundraising Manager and F2F Advisor build the WWF-SA in-house F2F programme commencing in the 1st quarter of 2018. This includes the development of operational systems, recruitment, training, development and retention of teams of F2F fundraisers. The successful candidate will facilitate the ongoing, long-term improvement of fundraisers’ skills, enabling them to fulfil their potential within the organisation. The role is intended to be strategic rather than reactive; assessing the skills and knowledge within the F2F fundraising team, determining what training is needed to grow and retain these skills and ensuring the necessary development is provided.

Key Responsibilities:

b)Team recruitment process
c)Performance Management system
d)Performance-related remuneration model
e)Incentive Programme
f)Development of training material and collateral
g)Location strategy
•Recruitment and training the team of staff who directly engage with the general public raising funds on a day-to-day basis to support WWF’s conservation goals.
•Be responsible for maintaining the headcount requirements of the teams on a weekly/fortnightly basis
•Conduct orientation shifts with new team members to ensure they are fully supported for the first 1-3 shifts
•Retention of well performing fundraisers
•Coach, manage, train, and motivate the existing team to exceed their financial and non-financial KPIs through one to one coaching sessions or group training
•Assist with closing skill or knowledge gaps with any staff who might be identified for more senior roles through structured learning, coaching and formal progression reviews
•Train new Team Leaders as required
•Lead from the front and spend 25%+ of the time fundraising alongside new or existing staff members
•Be well-versed with WWF’s goals and objectives to be able to empower F2F fundraisers to raise awareness and provide education to prospective donors
•Assist with the development, updating and review of sales collaterals, training presentations and other materials as required
•Assist with any F2F related duties as required by the Individual Fundraising Manager
•Conduct field and site visits
•Collect and consolidate field performance reports from team leaders, to inform weekly forward planning
•Building a relationship with F2F sites and locations and, manage the weekly site bookings process.

•Tertiary education with minimum of 5 years work experience in sales or fundraising will be advantageous
•Experience in managing a diverse sales team
