Based in Parktown, Johannesburg, the Regional Operating Officer will be responsible to translate the Southern African Regional Business Strategy into a high-performance operational strategy, plan and delivery framework across the relevant operating divisions, geared towards ensuring funder and stakeholder value creation, to ensure implementation thereof, and create new organisational entities or terminate those that are no longer viable to maximise business growth and sustainability. Emphasis must be placed on performance and outcome evaluation.
The Regional Operating Officer will also be required to integrate internal operations across the value chain for the relevant operating divisions to ensure optimal operational delivery enablement. The responsibility of operational performance, compliance and standards lies ultimately with the Regional Operating Officer.
The planning horizon of work is 1 to 4 year’s but some plans will be on a longer timeframe.

BROADLY, FOR THE HEALTH PROGRAMME DIVISIONS,
YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:
Translate the Group & Regional Operational Strategy for effective quality Operational Delivery in the, across the Region.
Create organisational capacity for effective execution of the Regional and Operational Area Strategy (finance, processes, people, infrastructure, systems).
Manage integration of operations across the Region and Operating Area thereby ensure alignment to the Group & Regional Operational Strategy and other business area requirements.
Drive the Sustainability and Viability of Operations to ensure value creation for the organisation.
YOU SHOULD HAVE:
•Minimum requirement is a relevant medical / health related qualification, at least at a NQF level 9, and / or medical degree at NQF level 8;
•Related business qualification at NQF Level 9 is recommended.
•At least 10 years’ experience in the Health Sector of which 5 years in a senior level management role
•Prior experience of working with local & international funders, would be an advantage
•Proven ability to produce excellent results through effective operational management.
•Extensive knowledge of South Africa’s public health industry
•Credible health systems background
•Credible Principal Investigator experience on large grants
•Grant writing expertise and experience.
