Introduction
Kamoto Copper Company (KCC) is a large-scale copper and cobalt producer with substantial high-grade mineral reserves, located in the Lualaba Province in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), in the Central African Copperbelt. KCC is a joint venture between Katanga Mining Ltd. (75%) and the state-owned mining companies, Gecamines (20%) and SIMCO (5%).

The operation consists of open pits and underground mines, one concentrator and a hydrometallurgical processing facility. KCC is constructing the Whole Ore Leach plant to increase throughput capacity and improve recoveries to sustainably produce 300,000 tonnes of copper and 22,000 tonnes of cobalt per year by 2019.

KCC employs more than 7,000 workers (employees and contractors). The company develops local suppliers and surrounding communities through community and infrastructure improvement programmes.

Specification
The Mechanical Training Coordinator shall:

•Assist in coordinating planned training interventions for the Engineering Training Centre
•Monitor and track training progress against the training skills matrix
•Obtain confirmation of nominees for scheduled courses
•Confirm course booking with training providers (TD Trainers, Occasional or External Trainers)
•Send reminders to course attendees before commencement of course
•Obtain learner information using the Training database
•Issue training certificates
•Schedules and coordinates all classroom training with Managers and Supervisors – schedules location, date/time, materials and attendance
•Collect, compile and report results of evaluation attendance and training data
•Communicate data and reports as needed
•Order supplies for Engineering Training Centre as needed
•Consult with Engineering Superintendent to assess training needs
•Manage assessment processes
•Monitor compliance to safety, health and environmental requirements in a workplace
•Safeguard company assets (working capital & fixed assets)
•Identify cost saving and cash conservation opportunities
•Maintain housekeeping
Requirements
•Engineering & Training Diploma or Certificate (minimum Level 4)
•At least 3 - 5 years’ experience in a related role
•Train the Trainer and Assessor qualifications
•Moderator certificate would be an advantage
•Experience in Technical Training Organization
•Experienced in designing and implementing training programs
