Specification
This position focuses on the all spend categories. Smaller spend categories will also be dealt with by the incumbent.
Accountable in collaboration with the responsible manager for developing and implementing category procurement strategies that result in real reductions in the total cost of ownership (TCO) of all goods/services purchased.
Establish key performance measures for each spend category (eg cost per unit, total product expense)
Preparation of tender documentation to procure goods and services through the tender processes.
Evaluate tenders with the responsible department managers and lead the process of making a recommendation to Tender Committee.
Lead cross functional sourcing teams in evaluating tenders. Prepare the recommendation to the Tender Committee and present such to the Tender Committee.
Assist department managers with Request for Quotations (RFQs) by checking the specifications and sending these to suppliers and evaluating the quotations.
Establishes and maintains contractual and business relationships with suppliers; monitors internal customer satisfaction; solves operational issues with suppliers (eg quality, delivery and service issues).
Measure and track performance within the spend category and define budgetary impact
Ensure compliance with legislation and specific the Group’s policies and procedures (include the Code of Ethics).
Collate BBBEE data for annual BEE verification.
Ensure the right BBEEE suppliers are used.
Requirements
Relevant B degree or equivalent.
Purchasing or Supply Chain Management Diploma

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Three years procurement experience which includes sourcing, negotiating and contracting.
Broad knowledge of procurement and its processes.
Knowledge of procuring various business good and services
Report writing ability to compile tender documents and recommendations to the Tender committee.
Business acumen
Ability to synthesize information from diverse sources and present findings in a clear, concise fashion.
BBBEE procurement knowledge and experience.
