Introduction
The General Practitioner will provide confidential Member clinical advice to both members and external service providers. The successful Candidate will authorise Member benefits by analysing treatment plans and medical reports and support pre-authourisation staff within a 24 hour call centre.

Specification
a) Oversee Case Manager in order to manage Member’s benefit versus stay in hospital.
b) Receive and analyze update treatment plans for Members with requests for extended stays in hospitals.
c) Analyze pre-authorization requests and advise usage of day clinics in order to manage Member’s benefit.
d) Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with Members or nominated family members.
e) Monitor Patient progress or responses to treatments.
f) Collect, record, and maintain Patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
g) Managing the Chronic Disease Benefit Department.
h) Diagnose and treat variety of diseases and injuries in general practice - examines Patients, using medical knowledge.
i) Analyze reports and diagnostic results of tests and or examinations by Member to authorize Member’s benefits.
j) Administers or prescribes treatments and drugs via telephonic medical care.
k) Counselling Members once diagnostics has been provided.
l) May conduct physical examinations to provide information needed for consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverage.
m) Oversee all clinical areas within the business.
n) Oversee clinical aspects of primary care clinics.
o) Ability to interact with hospitals and other medical facilities in order to facilitate admission.
Requirements
3) Mandatory Qualifications
a) MBChB/ MBBCh Degree.
b) Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
c) Official license to practice.
d) Valid Drivers’ License with own reliable transport, travelling between branches and clinics may be required.

a) Plan, implement, or administer health programs, chronic management programs or
standards in businesses for prevention or treatment of injury or illness.
b) Design Member or employee health programs.
c) Direct healthcare delivery programs.
d) Train and upskill employees, medical providers, and other health care professionals.

a) Prepare official health documents or records.

c) Draft and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
