Senior Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing support to the Finance Manager, within the department. They will supervise junior accounts clerks, management of the fixed assets, and stock, foreign & large creditors and generate financial reports.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
•Curio stock and Revenue management within the Okavango Wilderness Safaris Group of companies
•Managing of Fixed Assets within the Okavango Wilderness Safaris group of companies
•Stock Management by processing monthly stock movements, processing stock transfers and checking the stock sheets
•Applying for TAX Clearance certificates and ensuring that they are up to date.
•Foreign and large creditors management by processing the foreign suppliers invoices and reconciling foreign creditors
•Managing capital projects deposits and ensuring that all invoices for capex are received and processed
•Group bank management by coordinating preparation of and review of cash availability reports and reviewing bank reconciliation statements
•Supervision and training of Junior Accounts Clerks
•Any other finance responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Finance Officer and Finance Manager from time to time
Qualifications and Requirements:
•AAT/ Diploma in Accounting with at least 5 years work experience in the accounting field;
• A minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position will be an added advantage
•Experience in MS Excel, MSWord and Outlook.
•Understanding deadlines are critical and need to be executed.
•Outstanding communication skills.
•Attention to detail.
•Ability to work long hours and under immense pressure.
