Introduction

The Senior Implementation Planner: STI contributes to the organisational goals by developing and executing effective media strategies in order to achieve Media efficiencies, whilst considering brand positioning and meeting Upstream Media performance objectives.

Media Management
•End-to-end responsibility for the generic media performance of brands in the market place.
•Attend operational meetings to report on the monthly progress of the media plan.
•Work in partnership with digital media and marketing managers to optimize both business goals and the customer experience value chain at all media touch points.
•Work with the media strategist to achieve the brand’s strategic goals for growth and sustainability.
•Stay abreast of changes, challenges and innovations in the South African media landscape in order to identify, explore and implement media innovation and improvement.
•Consult media strategist for insight into competitor landscape and apply insights when compiling monthly plans.
•Foster healthy and effective relationships with media partners.
•Manage each brand’s media budgets.
•Develop and grow direct reports.
•Complete administrative functions of management like leave, performance reviews, etc.


Media Planning
•Monthly planning of media placement of creative executions (material) across traditional media channels with the goal of optimizing media ratings, cost efficiencies and sales performance.
•Report media performance to STI Manager.
•Obtain the best advertising rates that fit with the agreed media strategy.
•Reconciliations of spend, material and tracking numbers across systems.
•Monthly balancing.
•Accountable for brands’ contribution to annual TV commitment tracking and input into the documentation that reports on this.
•Maintaining detailed records.
•On-going monitoring of media performance across all generic media to ensure delivery of an optimal P-factor.
•Research different methodologies for placement of media.
•Evaluates media, event and sponsorship proposals against strategy for brand and share relevant proposal with STI manager for approval.
•Complete Post Campaign Analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns in order to inform on future campaigns.
Requirements

Level of Education:

Essential:
•Grade 12 (Standard 10) with University Entrance (NQF4) with Mathematics
•A relevant 3 year Business related degree / diploma in a Commerce (e.g. Marketing, Media, Advertising) related discipline.

Experience:

Essential:
•At least 3 years’ experience in Media planning and Implementation

Desirable:
•At least 1 years staff management experience
