To regulate and monitor Aviation Security Standards and Practices. To ensure compliance with the National Aviation Security Programme (NASP) and Security Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs).
To promote Aviation Security and ensure effectiveness of measures are in place, in compliance with the NASP and other related Aviation Security Regulations.

Conduct Aviation Security Oversight:
Perform scheduled oversight requirements as detailed in the
NASP, CARs and CATS and identify gaps
Provide recommendations to clients to close any security concerns and gaps
Conduct audits, inspections and other recommended monitoring activities

Enforcement and Compliance within Aviation Security
Evaluate and ensure Corrective Action Plans are closed
Conduct follow up inspections/audits to ensure that security
deficiencies identified are closed.
Evaluate and validate operator Security Programmes such Air Carrier, Aerodromes/Airports and General Aviation
Assure quality and accuracy of evaluations, ensuring timeous delivery of security programme.

Conduct Amendments to Regulations:
Assist the department to amend Aviation Security
Regulations, Technical Standards and National Aviation
Security Programme (NASP) through Manager
Ensure that regulations are current and all gaps identified are closed.

Liaison and Consultation (Air Carrier and Aerodrome/Airports Security):
Project a satisfactory image of the SACAA to all internal and external clients, and adhere to protocol
Communicate with internal and external stakeholder regarding aviation security related matters
Ensure that all requests are attended to and queries are handled in line with the SACAA policies and procedures
Liaise with operators and execute monitoring oversight and surveillance activities, in line with the SACAA Policies,
Manual of Procedure and Operational Procedures.

Perform general job related and office administration
Implement and maintain an accurate database for aviation security non compliance.
Maintain and accurate repository of AVSEC documents and Information.
NQF Level 6 National Diploma / Relevant Tertiary Education and Aviation Security Courses
Ideal Qualifications: Diploma in Aviation Security

3-5 years Aviation Security and Safety related experience.
