The Engineer executes the activities within his/her area of responsibility, ensuring the compliance with the engineering design standards/codes, QA/QC and HSE requirements:

A - Development Technology know how and Engineering Design:
Define Control and Instrumentation engineering design basis
Perform control and instrumentation engineering designs and develop or compile related scope and specifications.
Develop and or prepare Control and Instrumentation basic and detailed designs

B – Pre-feasibility and Feasibility:
Perform and or conduct Control and Instrumentation project development pre-feasibility studies and feasibility studies, working closely and in consultation with other engineering disciplines.
Develop and or prepare conceptual designs
Review pre-feasibility and feasibility study reports

C - Bidding Process/ Technical Proposal Development:
Prepare Control and Instrumentation elements ( tagged items and bulk material), quantities for cost and erection works estimates
Support bidding team to define man hours and cost estimates
Perform the technical bid analysis and develop technical proposals

D - Project Execution, Manufacturing and Construction/Installations:
Prepare and or review project technical documentation and requirements
Coordinate subcontracted engineering activities and control subcontracted engineering documents
Conduct site and factory monitoring and related performance/acceptance tests
Conduct field installation quality assurance and perform field engineering tasks such as the management of field changes and requests for information.
Prepare the technical documentation for instrumentation elements material and services requisitions and prepare according to internal procedures the technical evaluations
Co-ordinate the review and finalisation of manufacturing, assembly and installation designs

E – Construction and start up:
Provide technical and engineering support to construction team
Perform site engineering activities during construction and commissioning phases
BSc Engineering or B-Tech or National Diploma (Electrical light Current and/or Control and Instrumentation)
Project Management post graduate qualification or Certificate (added advantage)

-2D and 3D modelling
-Engineering activity planning
-Engineering design and document review
-Engineering man-hours and cost budget planning and monitoring
-Engineering standard codes and regulations
-Engineering subcontractor management and control
-Engineering technical bid evaluation
-Equipment and material testing
-Material management system
