The successful candidate will be responsible for/should possess the following:

The Engineer executes the activities within his area of responsibility ensuring the compliance with the engineering design standards/codes, QA/QC and HSE requirements:

A - Development Technology know how and Engineering Design:
Define Mechanical Static equipment engineering design basis.
Perform Mechanical Static Equipment engineering designs and develop or compile related scope and specifications in collaboration with Process Design Engineer and
other disciplines.
Develop and or prepare Mechanical Static equipment basic and detailed designs.

B – Pre- Feasibility and Feasibility:
Perform and or conduct Static Equipment project development pre-feasibility studies and feasibility studies, working closely and in consultation with other engineering disciplines.
Provide technical support as may be required to complete the feasibility study.
Review pre-feasibility and feasibility study reports

C - Bidding phase/Commercial proposal development:
Perform the estimation of each item (weight/cost)
Define the class of good of each item and the relevant level of inspection
Participate in the preparation of material requisitions
Perform the technical bid analysis and develop technical proposals.

D - Project Execution, Manufacturing and Construction:
Review client technical documentation and requirements.
Maintain project technical files.
Control subcontracted discipline engineering documents.
Overview tender or contact documents to identify the disciplinary project requirements , the available data/information and the required scope of work.
Participate in preparing mechanical data books and as built drawings.
Ensure static equipment suppliers follow-up.
Co-ordinate the review and finalization of manufacturing and construction designs.

E – Commissioning and start up:
Ensure technical Support during plant commissioning planning , pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
- MSc, BSc, B-Tech or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
-Project Management post graduate certificate (Added advantage)
-Professional registration with respective professional bodies such as ECSA, SACPCMP, etc. (Added advantage)

- Pressure vessel, heat exchanger , tank and sphere fabrication procedure
