Introduction
The main purpose of this position/job is to provide academic leadership and oversight to the Humanities department by ensuring the delivery of best in class learning solutions and strategies to drive the Academy’s goals of providing high quality education.

Specification
●A relevant Teaching qualification;
●A relevant tertiary management qualification will serve as an added advantage;
●SACE Registration
●At least 5 years’ teaching and school leadership experience;
● At least 5 years' teaching Geography up to Grade 12
●Excellent curriculum and classroom management experience
●Proven commercial budgeting and forecasting skills;
●Proven ability in integrating Technology in the classroom
●Exceptional communication, organisational and multi-tasking skills
●Exceptional people leadership skills
Requirements
●Contribute to the development and execution of the Academic strategy to ensure the realization of the Academy’s vision;
●Manage the classroom by employing innovative strategies to ensure knowledge and learning is transferred effectively and efficiently to maximize learners academic achievement;
●Plan, coordinate and implement learning programmes across each phase of the curriculum, including curriculum assessment, programme support and staff development;
●Communicate and collaborate with the Academics internal and external stakeholders to ensure joint academic growth and delivery;
●Research new material areas, trends, information and teaching methodology to increase and maintain up-to-date subject matter knowledge;
●Manage information and other applicable resources and materials availability, by forecasting, and building capacity plans to ensure efficient and effective delivery of learning;
●Manage the departmental budget in alignment with Finance procedures;
●Manage recruitment, performance and development processes, to ensure staff contribute fully and develop their skills and experience, in line with the Academy’s high performance standards;
●Research new material, trends, information and teaching methodology to increase and maintain up-to-date subject matter knowledge;
●Keep abreast of developments in Technology and relevant classroom integration strategies to improve learning delivery;
●Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
●Advanced computer literacy skills
●Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
●Excellent organization and administration skills
●Excellent teaching and assessment practice
●Commitment to personal growth and the development of others.
●High levels of competence with technology.
