YFM is a "Youth" radio station in Johannesburg, South Africa. Established in 1997, the station is formatted to mostly play urban music genres such as Kwaito, Hip Hop, and R&B along with a minority of its airtime being dedicated to talk shows.
Reporting to Market Research and Commercial Support Executive.
Ensure that the various teams in the company are updated with the latest research in the industry by analysing and breaking down information into usable formats depending on their specified requirements on a daily basis. This includes:
•Providing in-depth data analysis and insights in various formats by using available data sources for Sales, Programming and Digital;
•Coordinating/conducting all aspects of qualitative, quantitative and ad hoc consumer and listener research;
•Analysing, interpreting and reporting on all research data for Programming and Sales on existing databases, which include RAM, Brand Atlas, ADDYNAMIX/ WizzAd Plus;
•Preparing consumer insight presentation proposals as briefed.
•Keeping abreast with all industry research committees/consultative bodies, i.e. including, but not limited to the BRC. Attend all research committee meetings on behalf of YFM and as directed by the Manager.
•Keeping abreast and informing the company of all new and developing research tools.
•Keeping up to date with all media industry initiatives and market trends;
•Completing any other task assigned by the Market Research and Commercial Support Manager and/or CEO/MD
•Adhering to strict codes of confidentiality and operating with discretion and professionalism in all dealings with internal and external stakeholders.
To assist Sales with revenue growth for the company by providing insights into industries, advertisers and consumers on a daily basis. This includes:
•Monitoring, tracking, analysing and reporting on YFM and its competitors;
•Providing consumer/listener insights as required for client briefs;
•Identifying potential advertising opportunities, by keeping in touch with new products, advertising campaigns and brand activity;
3.Sponsorships and Promotions
•Collate all data and create PCAs for client campaigns
•Clip audio from all on-air activity
•Make sure that the audio is the correct and is of good quality
•Ensure that the campaign reach and frequency is correct and includes all the on-air activity
•Ensure that all relevant material including highlights for digital are included in the PCA
•Responsible for all aspects of reporting in digital.
•Compiling monthly analytics reports per platform (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Website)
•Compiling monthly content reports by analysing content posted on all the Station’s digital platforms
•Compiling PCAs for all digital executions for campaigns
Key Performance Indicators:
•Accurately generating reports and presentations

•Submit a monthly report on work done to line manager
•Liaise with Sponsorship & Promotions Manager, Digital Manager and Market Research and Commercial Support Executive in compiling PCAs.

Experience: At least 2 years experience working in Research and/or with Telmar.
