The Head of HR invites applications from suitably qualified and energetic HR professionals to join our HR team as it advances our strategic intent of people growth and talent development across our seven schools and campus departments. St Stithians is a passionate, fast-paced and complex educational institution, employing 450 full time staff plus a further 200+ contract staff. This new position will be available from January 2020.
Requirements
The requirements for this exciting position are:
•A relevant Human Resources tertiary qualification, supported by 5-8 years’ experience in generalist HR management;
•Sound knowledge and experience of the HR value chain with specific experience in managing employment equity, employee relations, diversity and transformation, staff engagement, employee wellness, HR risk management and legislative compliance;
•Previous exposure presenting cases at the CCMA would be preferable;
•Advanced working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook is essential;
•Excellent command of English (verbal and written communication);
•Exceptional planning and organisational skills, with attention to detail;
•Ability to problem-solve, innovate and work collaboratively;
•Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to interact and influence at all levels;
•High levels of integrity, confidentiality, emotional maturity and a professional work ethic;
•Ability to act impartially and in line with policies and procedures;
•Sound judgement and decision making;
•A resilient individual who is able to use initiative, prioritise, multi-task and work under pressure;
•Ability to adapt and to cope with change;
•A strong appreciation of the importance of values in organisational culture, and a willingness to work within the Methodist ethos of the College;
•The successful candidate’s appointment will be subject to verification of qualifications and clearance against the criminal and sexual offender registers.
