An opportunity exists for an honours graduate who would like to pursue a career in an investment team specialising in index tracking. Our 18-month development program will help you develop a broad skills base, gain exposure to the investment process, develop knowledge and insight into the investment and retirement industry. You will support a small investment team in this role and can expect to be stretched outside of a narrowly scoped role.
In this role, the role holder will gain on-the-job learning, technical training as well as professional development that will equip them with the skills and experience to become a fully-fledged investment professional. This size of the team and our organisation will require flexibility and the appetite to take on a variety of different tasks that will stretch you beyond a narrowly defined role. This will ramp your learning and will aide in the development of a broad view and development of broad technical skills. In addition to on-the-job training, you will receive support to enrol in a professional investment qualification (CIPM or CFA).
On completion of the 18-month program, you will have gained experience in the following areas:
• Portfolio management
• Performance analysis and reporting
• Competitor analysis
• Different investment and retirement products
• The regulatory environment
• Client presentations and engagement
• Honours Degree or equivalent with specialisation in finance, accounting, maths, actuarial science, statistics, engineering or related quantitative focus with a minimum of first-year mathematics and second-year statistics
• CFA or CIPM studies a distinct advantage
Experience that will count in your favour:
• 0-2 years’ experience in financial services, with knowledge of investments
• Excel skills to advanced level
