To assist the department with the processing of new licence applications (including at attending to concurrence requests) in respect of the Banks. To attend to any other ancillary banking-related matters post licensing but performed within the Licensing Department including but not limited to license, product and service variation requests. The person appointed to this position will report to the Manager: Licensing
Key Performance Areas:
•Analyse, consider and for recommend approval or decline all applications submitted for authorization (including concurrence granting) in respect of the banks;
•Assist and support from time to time the other areas in the Licensing Department;
•In respect of the licence applications received and dealt with including but not limited to applications relating to the Financial Services Providers;
• Collective Investment Schemes, Collective Investment Schemes management companies, Retirement Funds Benefit Administrators, Insurers and Compliance Officers;
•Assist in ensuring that only fit and proper key individuals, directors of companies, members of close corporations and sole proprietors are approved in the management structures of authorised entities;
•Very good knowledge and experience, regarding the functioning of the financial services industry, the various role-players and/or the regulatory environment

LLB/Legal or B Comm Degree or equivalent, 3 to 5 years relevant experience, in the financial services industry, regulatory environment, risk management, compliance management and possess sound banking sector experience. A good understanding of the overall mandate of the FSCA.
