Mining Services Contract Mining division is currently seeking for a Safety Officer. The successful incumbent will be responsible for Site Inspections and will need to build excellent client relationships, while leveraging their problem-solving skills. Further responsibilities will include Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments. The position requires at least 5 years Safety experience. Applicants who possess the necessary skills and drive to succeed will be favorably considered. Preference would be given to applicants that are residents of Delmas or close surrounding area.

Maintenance of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 Systems.
Investigate, analyses all accidents and incidents and compile comprehensive reports.
Reporting monthly statistics to company, client and DMR.
Contractor management and conducting audits. Conducting self-audits and inspections.
Collation of monthly OHS statistics, environmental usages and statistics for reporting purposes. Managing Legal Appointments, site establishment from a safety perspective and general OHS and Environmental daily activities i.e. toolbox talks, signing of documentation, inspections, ensuring SHE Committee meetings take place, ensure appointment of committee members, taking minutes of SHE Committee meetings, ordering of signage and other safety equipment, serving in an advisory capacity to site management and supervision, mentoring of SHE representatives.
N.Dip Safety Management or equivalent safety qualification.
Competent A - Examine and make safe qualification.
Very high attention to detail, administration skills, MS computer literacy and be able to work independently.
Good working knowledge of national legislation / standards and Best Operating Practices and its application to our business environment.
At least 5 years mining experience will be beneficial.
