Position: Business Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist: PRIME

To continuously monitor and evaluate the business performance of the organisation against approved strategic objectives and annual and operational plans and flag any actionable items/risks in advance.
Shareholder Management & Thought Leadership (Customer)
-Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the TIA performance information is provided timeous and within the guidelines of National Treasury, The Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) and the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI).
-Support and serve on internal and external committees, task forces, and working groups related to business performance monitoring and evaluation within the Public Sector
Governance and Compliance
-Design and implement performance monitoring guidelines, templates and processes
-Adherence to all relevant policies and frameworks is maintained
-Compliance to all TIA systems (fund management, performance management, HR, finance, Stakeholder information, etc.) is maintained
Internal Processes and Improvement
-Gather and evaluate performance information monthly, quarterly and annually from several Business Units
-Coordinate monitoring and evaluation of performance against Business Unit Operational plans
-Ensure alignment of Business Units' deliverables with company deliverables
-Assist with the compilation of the APP quarterly and annual reports
-Provide performance inputs to the APP
-Provide performance outputs to the annual report
-Compile performance deviation reports monthly
-Ensure accurate response to audit queries on business performance before they become findings.
-Prepare and implement the TIA annual performance evaluation calendar in accordance with the guidelines provided by DST
-Identify, manage and coordinate the implementation of knowledge systems, tools and initiatives to improve business monitoring and evaluation
-TIA information systems and tools are optimally utilized to execute core tasks
-The use of an intranet portal to ease collection and verification of performance evidence is operated and adapted to suit changing requirements.
Performance and Development
-Identify and implement development opportunities to ensure continuous improvement of work effectiveness and efficiency
-KPAs are understood and achieved as agreed upon in the performance agreement
-Review performance against agreed performance standards
-Live the values and culture of TIA
-Mentor and coach TIA staff regarding performance monitoring and evaluation
-Minimum: Degree in Business Management or equivalent.
-Ideal: Project management qualification and post graduate qualification in strategy development and implementation
-A minimum of 3 years’ experience in business performance management
-5 years’ experience in business performance, monitoring and Evaluation environment
-Interpersonal relationship skills
-Research and report writing skills
-Advanced Computer Skills - expert in use of Excel
-National Treasury and DPME guidelines on Performance Management
-Monitoring and evaluation trends
