The leading Bridal, Special Ooccasions and Men's Formal wear business in SA is recruiting for a Finance Manager in their Finance department based at their Head Office.

Industries Retail

•Capturing of monthly journals and recurring journals
•Manage and supervise the finance department
•Daily cash flow reports and 3 months forecasting
•Audit internal policies and procedures
•Implementing accounting policies and procedures across the group and ensure all necessary compliances
•Attend to store queries and address financial enquiries from other departments
•Check all payment allocations and sign-off
•Liaise with bankers and various issues


•Payment of foreign creditors via Bidvest
•Review and pay overseas royalty quarterly
•Integration of monthly payroll into GL
•Check all creditors’ reconciliations
•Revaluing of foreign creditors
•Allocation of insurance cost for processing and manage broker relationship including claims processing
•Final preparation and verification of Trial Balance
•Monthly Management Accounts
•Supervise and review freight invoices to price list
•Monthly statutory payments
•Intercompany entries
•Review a balance sheet reconciliation file – responsible for certain sections’ preparation
•Attend periodic stock takes
•Purchase foreign currencies as required by company
•Processing and paying of PAYE, UIF, SDL, VAT
•Payroll clearing
•Realised Forfeited Income
•Complete rental schedule as defined in the balance sheet reconciliation excel file
•Maintain schedule as per leases and agree to the Trial Balance and Balance Sheet
•Share of Marketing journal
•Share of Head Office journal
•Reviewing of monthly trade creditors
•Reviewing of monthly stock on hand report


Assist in the Budgeting process
Preparation of year-end audit files and liaise with auditors for outstanding requirements
Intercompany entries
Liaise with external auditors
Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements:
oWorkmen’s Compensation
oEmployees’ Tax
Hire Stock depreciation calculation
Disposal of hire stock calculation
Review and processing of stock take journals
Ensuring systems function correctly – Alchamex
Full review of Balance Sheet file

-BCom Degree or similar with articles
-5 years’ experience as a Financial Manager
-5 years’ audit pack preparation & Balance Sheet Reconciliation
-5 years’ AccPac experience and knowledge
-3 years’ advanced Excel including Pivot tables knowledge
-BCX Dolfin and WPRO knowledge an added advantage


-Must be able to multitask, be flexible & pro-active and self-managed
-Must be able to work in a highly deadline driven and adapt to a semi structured environment
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy a pre-requisite
-Strong problem-solving and relationship building abilities to deal with Foreign Shareholders
-3+ years’ experience managing staff at all levels
-Professional and well-groomed
