Specification
General secretarial and typing functions associated with legal work
General office duties
Completing large volumes of dictated typing work with relation to High court
Administration of office files
Arranging internal and external meetings
Liaising with clients, counsel and sheriffs, organizing consultations and attending to queries from clients and other attorneys
Receiving and sending e-mails
Administrating urgent services of legal documents and follow ups
Assisting in supervisor's practice and facilitate best use of their professional time
Diarising files and following up on outstanding issues e.g. outstanding documents, sheriff returns etc.
Receiving and sending e-mails to correct e-mail addresses with delivery tracking
Requirements
5+ years experience as Legal Cost Secretary
Drafting of cost accounts
Fully bilingual
Matric Certificate
Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Litigation typing experience
Very good typing skills (55 words per minute +)
Work well under pressure
Be able to handle large volumes of work
Be able to work independently, use initiative and be able to work on several matters at a time
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Be able to pay attention to detail and work accurately
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team
Willingness to learn and improve own performance to become more efficient and effective
Flexible with respect to time and work
Secretarial/Paralegal Diploma will be advantageous
