Introduction
The main purpose of the role is to provide accurate and timeous financial management, reporting and analysis for the relevant vertical or contract, ensuring corporate governance.

Specification
1. Financial analysis and reporting
a. Collate and prepare management accounts on a monthly basis
b. Analyse, interpret and comment on monthly financial results (actual vs budget) for submission to the business
c. Ensure data integrity (incl. completeness, accuracy and validity)
d. Create accurate monthly and annual management account reports in line with Business Unit requirements
e. Ensure Barloworld reporting deadlines are met
f. Prepare management accounts for upward reporting structures

2. Budgets
a. Assist with the preparation and consolidation of the annual budget process, within agreed deadlines (incl. quarterly rolling plans 0 to 3)

3. Corporate governance, compliance, and audits
a. Ensure tax, legal, statutory and internal authority compliance
b. Facilitate mini- audits in order to ensure compliance
c. Prepare for internal and external audits and present audit packs according to deadlines
d. Track and monitor outstanding items and communicate the impact of these to the business

4. Financial management and Financial planning
a. Capture information up to trial balance level
b. Review general ledger reconciliations, prepare comments and implement actions within the required timeframe
c. Evaluate and monitor working capital (incl. debtors, creditors and cash)

5. Financial Systems
a. Manage the implementation of new financial systems and processes
b. Identify and drive systems enhancements throughout the business unit
c. Manage systems integrity
d. Contribute to the implementation of new financial systems and processes
Requirements
 BCom or similar accounting qualification
 Recently qualified CA (SA)
 3 - 5 years in a management accounting role
 Financial and People management
 Financial systems
 1 - 3 years in management
 Engaging at Senior Management Level
 Supply Chain and Logistics or Transport
 Relevant sector/industry
 SAGE
 Tax Calculations and Corpsmart
 Financial reporting
 Corporate Governance
 Commercial acumen
 Financial and management accounting technical expertise
 Financial systems (Sage, Baan, Navision, HFM)
 Operational understanding of Logistics/ Supply Chain or Transport industry
 1 – 2 years in SCM and Logistics industry
 Well-developed communication skills to persuade and influence
 Highly developed interpersonal skills related to build relationships, internal resilience (EQ), Emotional Intelligence including sensitivity to diversity and conflict resolution
 Well-developed ability to reason with numerical information to influence and enable business and financial decisions
 Critical thinking skills to analyze information and diagnose problems related to relatively complex financial challenges
 Memorization and recollection of information
