Botswana Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) is a Parastatal under the Ministry of Investment Trade and Industry (MITI). It was established in 2015 through the 2015 Special Economic Zones Act of Parliament and institutionalised in 2018. The Organisation is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of activities related to the establishment and development of Special Economic Zones (SEZ).

Main Purpose of the Job
Develops and clarifies Investor attraction Policies and develops advocacy programmes and initiatives to support the development and application of broader policy initiatives for Investor attraction and the creation of an Investor friendly environment.

Key Result Areas:
•Develops investment attraction and promotion policies, including clear Investor eligibility criteria.
•Ensures that approved policies are communicated to and understood by relevant stakeholders, in particular that there is strong understanding of roles and responsibilities across all stakeholders
•Develops Corporate Governance guidelines and standards for SEZ’s, including directives to Management Companies on SEZA representation on SEZ Boards.
•Proposes and participates in approved advocacy programmes and initiatives to support the creation of a whole of Government approach in creating an Investor friendly policy environment.
•Develops excellent working relationships with relevant Government entities involved in investor attraction and aftercare services - liaise with Government entities on an ongoing basis to influence policy changes in order to create a conducive investment environment.
•Supports Investment Attraction and Facilitation Directorate in the identification and attraction of new investment.
•Coordinates and audit stakeholder action items to be addressed to support delivery of a more conducive operating environment for investors.

Qualification and Experience
A degree in Economics, Public Policy, Political Science, or another related field, plus six to eight years post qualification experience in Corporate business planning ideally in experience in investment promotion, public policy development, economics, management and strategic consulting, or industrial development.
