Introduction

Botswana Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) is a Parastatal under the Ministry of Investment Trade and Industry (MITI). It was established in 2015 through the 2015 Special Economic Zones Act of Parliament and institutionalised in 2018. The Organisation is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of activities related to the establishment and development of Special Economic Zones (SEZ).

INVESTOR ATTRACTION EXECUTIVE

Main Purpose of the Job
Manages activities across all key stakeholders to identify and attract foreign export-oriented investment in accordance with the approved Strategy, Plans and Policies. The candidate will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop an attractive investment environment and liaise with the Investor Facilitation team to introduce and hand over interested Investors for facilitation towards successful approval.

Key Result Areas:
•Generates, implements and constantly evaluates strategies for designated markets to attract target companies and investment to the SEZs in Botswana.
•Develops targeted plans and tactics to proactively generate leads and accelerate the conversion of leads to investments.
•Builds and sustains credible, long-term relationships with investors, industry associations, cluster and sector groups, public sector organizations, service providers and other stakeholders to enhance lead generation and investor servicing.
•Ensures information regarding market strategies and planned missions are current and shared with the Director - Investment Attraction Department.
•Manages investor files and mission planning within the Organization’s Client Relationships Management (CRM) system.
•Ensures that all Investor attraction activities are carried out in accordance with the relevant Policies and agreements e.g. international trade agreements, eligibility criteria for SEZ investors, SEZA branding and marketing protocols etc.
•Works with Policy and Planning Department to review and clarify incentives, ensuring there is a compelling value proposition for investors.
•Provides general support to the Investor Facilitation team in their efforts towards investor appraisal and facilitation.

Requirements
Qualification and Experience
A degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or related discipline, plus six to eight years post graduate experience in business development planning and implementation. Experience in an FDI environment is desirable.
