The University of Namibia is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the vacant Lecturer position, Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Public Health, Oshakati Campus.
Contribute to successful design, delivery and development of curricula with subjects areas. The responsibilities include developing syllabi, teaching administering subjects and organize community health fields’ activities. The post-holder will provide strong, innovative teaching in Management of Health Systems; Monitoring and Evaluation of Health Programs; Health Policy and Management; Leadership and Management, Teaching and Mentoring; Health Economics and Financing. Leadership and management: the post holder is expected to contribute to the department administrative activities.
The post holder will deliver teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate program degrees’ students. Teaching venues include classroom, field works hands-on and on-line, for both. The post-holder will develop and maintain a programme of innovation and research that aligns with and supports the School and University strategy in Teaching and Learning and the School and University Research and Innovation Strategy. The post-holder will have responsibility for student assessment, support and academic guidance in both undergraduate and postgraduate Programmes. The appointee will also undertake roles such as module coordination, participation in examination boards, curriculum review, student mentoring and other activities required to maintain and develop the teaching mission of the School of Public health and the Faculty of Health Sciences. Conduct research and supervise Honours students. Participating and contributing to the collegial and intellectual life of the Department of Health Policy and Management, the School of Public Health, the Faculty of Health Sciences, the University at large and the wider community. The post holder is expected to engage in research and publication. The post will be responsible for classroom teaching and applied hands-on and field work and placement related Undergraduate programmes (including major revisions to existing courses). This position will also be responsible for developing new courses to expand course offerings in the Faculty of health Sciences, particularly in the School of public Health.
A Master’s degree in Public Health or related field with at least three (3) years lecturing experience; a satisfactory record of teaching, research, publication and service to the academic and wider community.
