The AHRI Research Associate at the Sigal Lab would supervise and carry out an NIH R01 funded project to determine the source of the HIV reservoir in human tissue in the face of antiretroviral therapy. In addition, the Research Associate would play a key role in the functioning of the laboratory, including ensuring the smooth running of the laboratory, facilitation/supervision of a subset of projects, and participation in funding applications and reporting. The Research Associate requires experience in HIV reservoir research including single-cell techniques to detect HIV infected cell subsets, publications in a field related to HIV reservoirs, and experience in supervision.
1. PhD in systems biology or virology
1. PhD with at least 1 year of post-doctoral experience.
2. Experience with experimental approaches to study the HIV reservoir in tissues and single cells including detection of HIV in vivo infection in single cells and HIV in vitro infection of different cell types
3. Track record including publications in an HIV reservoirs related field.
