•Manage all Tax Audits (FIRS, LIRS and Other states IRS)
•Manage Tax Consultants to optimize quality of work and manage delivery of service in line with management and board mandate
•Ensure compliance with all statutory deductions & transaction Taxes (PAYE, ITF, NSITF, WHT, VAT)
•Tax reporting to Management (monthly) and Board (quarterly) including Tax Payment Tracker & Tax Status Reports
•Maintain the required tax schedules to support Tax & Financial Audits
•Monthly Reconciliation of Taxes to monthly general ledger to ensure that tax provisions are properly captured in Management Accounts
•Ensure Timely Tax Filing – Monthly WHT, VAT, PAYE and Annual CIT Filings are done before statutory deadlines
•Ensure Proper Tax Documentations of all schedules, letters to and from Tax Authorities & Consultants
•Work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure transaction filing is maintained and useable to prosecute Tax Audits
•Corporate Structuring and General Tax Advisory (impact on new tax laws, FIRS issued notices, acquisitions etc.)
•Minimum of bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
•Membership of relevant professional bodies preferably ICAN/CITN is required
•A minimum of 6 years of work experience with at least 4 years in Tax Consulting with one of the Big 3(KPMG, PWC & Deloitte) and 2 years in
a similar role.
•Excellent understanding and application of IFRS/GAAP
•Ability to track all new Laws & Tax Notices and issue advisory to the Business
•Excellent leadership & influencing skills
