Main Purpose of the Job:

•Manage activities, operations, and personnel of the Kanye printed circuit board production plant, liaising with test and measurement facility, electronics communications and research team, as well as all stakeholders for efficient operation of the production plant.

Duties and responsibilities:

Electronics Manufacturing
•Assess submitted printed circuit board (PCB) job requests data files for compliance to produce using the available SMT production lines
•Operation of the main control station linked to various machine operation stations of the SMT line and associated production functions
•Perform any additional tasks associated with PCB functionality and quality assurance as may be requested and/or recommended by the client, electronics test and measurement facility, and the electronics and communications research team
•Liaise with other production team members to ensure seamless operation of the plant.
•Supervision and guiding of electronics production engineers and associated support staff for plant efficiency
•Oversee SMT, THT, and inspection for production line operations with efficient planning and integration of the various machinery/roles.
•Ensure optimal and timely delivery/availability of production resources for all workstations.
•Liaise with test and measurement facility, electronics and communications researchers, to ensure alignment of production PCBs to national and international standards, and conformance to the strategic mandate of the plant.
•Interface with individuals within and outside the organization as and when required during project lifetime, and under the supervision of the Senior Engineer/Plant Manager
•Adhere to professional standards and ethics, and comply with applicable rules, regulations and standards in electronics manufacturing industry
•Participate in project progress and status reports
•Make daily records on the production projects (production rate, components stock, production machine status, production delays/malfunctions, etc)


At least a Bachelor’s degree in either electronic engineering, communications engineering, computer engineering, embedded systems, or any qualification deemed appropriate by BITRI

Experience and working knowledge:

At least five (5) years working experience in an electronics related field. Experience in the research and development environment, and especially electronics manufacturing will be considered and added advantage.
