The incumbent will report to the Financial Manager and Financial Director and will be responsible for the full financial accounting function including accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting and maintaining financial controls.
Job Functions Accounting
Industries Accounting,Environmental / Horticulture / Agriculture
•Preparation of statutory financial statements up to and including the Balance Sheet, Income and Cash Flow Statements, with supporting working papers and schedules.
•Liaise with external Auditors.
•Assist the Financial Manager and Financial Director with the preparation of quarterly management reports and annual budgets where requested.
•Overseeing the accounts payable and accounts receivable function.
•Import yearly budgets onto Oracle NetSuite.
•Update cashbook and processing of bank transactions.
•Maintain and Management of Fixed Assets, from Acquisition to Depreciation to Retirement/Disposal.
•Process of monthly and year-end journals.
•Process monthly investment journals per investment statements.
•Validate and manage correctness of debtors and creditor accounts.
•Validate balances of trial balance on a monthly basis.
•Monitor the accuracy of all reports generated by Oracle NetSuite.
•Associated statutory duties such as the completion of VAT, STATSA, PAYE, NPO reports and income tax returns.
•Process 18A certificates and ensure the correct appliance of 18A certificate according to organisation tax exemption policy.
•Purging of Financial year data on Oracle NetSuite.
•Reconciliation of all Balance sheet accounts.
•Tracking of Inventory Management system.
•Maintain and update project-related financial records.
•Ad hoc reporting for external stakeholders.
•Ensure the department meets all typical financial business requirements while ensuring full compliance to all policies and procedures.

Other Accounting functions:

•Assist with the other financial functions within the financial division
•Daily approval of Accounts payable payments and new Suppliers on boarding
•Update financial reports periodically to systems
•Assist Financial Manager and Financial Director with ad-hoc financial reports/requests as required.
•Monitor Oracle NetSuite project, grant and reporting function
•Recognised Accounting qualification with completed training
•5 years’ experience as an Accountant
•Management Leadership Experience
•Familiarity with Oracle / SAP / Oracle's NetSuite is essential
•Computer literate: MS Outlook, Word and Excel intermediate level
•Accurate and strong attention to detail
•Deadline driven and able to manage conflicting deadlines
•Ability to work under pressure
•Takes ownership of responsibilities and willing to go the extra mile
•Good interpersonal skills
•Team player
•Positive attitude and willing to share knowledge and skills
