PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The purpose of this role is to keep the lodges in pristine condition from an Interior Designers view. The Aesthetics Manager would be responsible for preparing the project brief, capital planning and working closely with external Interior Design and Architectural/Project planning companies to deliver projects within the set budget. Work with the staff and management on setting aesthetics standards per camp in line with the company standards and ethos. They are also responsible for keeping up with upcoming trends and styles and continuously create new concepts for the lodges interior spaces and exterior in conjunction with the service and training departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create a combination of practical and professional workplaces, incorporating elements of the company's brand within the design.
Make indoor spaces functional, safe, and beautiful by determining space requirements and selecting essential and decorative items, such as colours, lighting, and materials. Must be able to draw, read, and edit blueprints.
Design and stage the lodges and setups for marketing photoshoots.
Send project briefs and budgets for all softs & décor procurement.
Host marketing teams and international photographers advertising the lodges.
Ensure operating minimum standards are in place as defined by Wilderness Safaris branding that camps operate to, or exceed minimum standard through style, service and aesthetics.
Maintain minimum standards and update where required, in particular with regard to the introduction of new unique camp layouts and experiences.
Monitor softs and décor asset management, keeping all expenses within budget.
Monitor Wilderness Window entries and react to any negative feedback trends in guest feedback.
Drive the regional and group service strategy and message into the camps.
Maintain a good relationship with external interior designers on new lodge concepts and layouts.
Work closely with the architects and project coordinators on new upcoming lodge builds.
Constant drive and improvement of unique signature camp experiences. Introduce new experiences that are relevant and suitable to the area and camps. Delivery, design, style, etc.
Ensure a high touch element throughout our camps – small effort for big impact philosophy.
Mentor, motivate and guide the teams on the ground, particularly in camp layouts and delivering the best possible guest experience.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Diploma in Interior Architecture/Design or an equivalent qualification
Proven creative ability and knowledge of lodge interiors
Minimum 5 years’ proven work experience in upmarket Lodges
Experience with the local culture is an added bonus
