To render and manage an occupational therapy service that complies with the standards and norms as indicated by relevant health policies and to assist patients in recovering from short- or long term injuries through the use of specialized exercises. In addition, to educate patients (and family members) on valuable coping skills in order to increase their independence and to help them deal with various activities of daily living.

•Assess patients in order to determine the most effective treatment plan to be followed.
•Develop treatment plans and programs to aid patient recovery.
•Monitor, evaluate and revise patient treatment plans to ensure patients remain on track with their expected recovery and participate in Multidisciplinary meetings, Contribute towards Quality Improvement Projects, ability to advise and guide Occupational Therapy Technicians and Occupational Therapy Assistants on a clinical level, Assist patients with recovery to their full functional ability including recommendations on the most suitable equipment/support aids to use.
•Maintain complete, accurate and comprehensive patient information and records including preparing detailed patient reports, as and when necessary, Provide comprehensive reports on patients’ condition, as and when necessary, outlining appropriate details and aligning these with job recommendations.
•Build mutually beneficial relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Liaise with other healthcare professionals regarding patient progress and refer patients who require other medical intervention and escalate any issues to Line Manager for resolution immediately).
• Adhere to standards, policies and procedures in order to reduce costs (unnecessary wastage) and report any associated financial risks identified and enhance own competence through improvement of competence and knowledge of industry developments/best practice.
•Ability to supervise students on practical blocks.
•Degree in Occupational Therapy.
•Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
•2+ years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist and Previous experience with a private hospital group advantageous.
•Computer Proficiency (Report Writing).
