Introduction
To dispense and issue drugs and stock in accordance with the scope of practice of a Pharmacist as laid down in the statutory regulations of the Regulations Act. In addition, controlling and monitoring the storage of all medicines in Pharmacy and the hospital are part of the incumbent’s responsibility, as well as with other health professionals in a multi-disciplinary approach toward patient care. Advise on therapeutic agents, dosages and duration of treatment pharmacist interventions and practicing clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardship as per Group protocols.

Specification
•Dispense medication according to Good Pharmacy Practice guidelines and advise patient on the use of generic medicine preparations.
•Issue drugs as per Group Standard Operating Practices.
•Responsible for full stock control function; including levels, counts, expirees, formulary, etc.
•People Management (Manage, develop and mentor junior pharmacy staff members).
•Act as a tutor for Basic and Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant Learners.
•Deliver a customer-focused pharmacy experience in as efficient a manner as possible.
•Identify and prevent financial risks to the organization by adhering to Company policies and procedures, for example the collection of levies and private patient cash payments on dispensing.
•Clinical Regulatory Responsibilities.
Requirements
•Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy.
•Active with South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist.
•1 to 2 years’ experience in a Private hospital/Retail environment is preferred.
•Computer proficiency – SAP and UNISOLV.
•Antimicrobial Stewardship beneficial.
