Specification
To manage and plan all geometric and volumetric duties on projects and manage all survey resources, inclusive of training and mentoring.


Contract Administration and Reporting

Preparation of assessment /evaluation reports and attend meetings as they may arise.

Researches existing record information, including record maps, plans, deeds, easements, and right-of-way documents; and maintains field data records, survey project files, and indexing systems.

Prepare all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.

Establish and maintain clear and frequent communications with the site management.

Have a clear understanding of the specifications and tolerances of the project and determine the best equipment and methods to achieve these.

Enforce the Quality Assurance flow of tasks relating to survey (Request – Task – Record).


Instrumentation Knowledge/Experience

Trimble RTK GPS. Trimble Access software.

Trimble total station. Auto level/electronic level.

Spectra RTK GPS. Spectra Survey Pro software.

Understand the flow of information in a construction project.

Have good insight and insight into the sequence of project execution.


Capture, Review & Resolve

Interpreting construction drawings.

Compile and maintain electronic project models for quantity and field purposes.

Calculate the project take-offs and maintain these as project variations are introduced.

Create and maintain a project drawings master and register.

Issue drawings and maintain record of drawings issued.

Receive Survey Requests, maintain the request register, delegate surveys as needed and ensure close out with survey records.

Review the project QA records and bring issue non-conformances with the project management team.

Setting out of works.

Measuring as build data and maintaining records.

Software: Model Maker, Road Maker, MS Office
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

BSc in Surveying /Engineering or Diploma in Survey or relevant qualification

SAGC (PLATO) registration would be advantageous


EXPERIENCE

12 to 18 years’ experience in the Construction field
