|Job Functions||Quantity Surveying|
To plan, measure, monitor and report on all costs and quantities associated with construction projects from outset until completion in support of effective and efficient project delivery and achievement of financial targets.
Execute project responsibilities for their function in line with organisational strategy in order to achieve set goals.
Report to project manager on QS functional performance as well as project performance on cost, quantity and report to head office support on QS compliance.
Prepare monthly valuations with the Site Agent, Resident Engineer and/or the client.
Undertake cost analysis for work tasks.
Provide assistance and/or advice on procurement related matters and ensure that all allowable are beaten while working within the FA Procurement Policies.
Ensure all project risks and opportunities relating to their area of responsibility are identified and mitigating actions implemented and monitored as well as aligning all stakeholders as is relevant for their area of responsibility and elevate risks as appropriate.
Ensure professional interaction with client and all stakeholders at middle to senior management level.
Monitor costs and compile cost reports on a daily basis using daily costing systems and report any problem activities or areas.
Quantify work done not shown on the contract drawings by physical measurements on site.
Set up and maintain a Quality and Process Control System as relating to their area of responsibility.
Ensure all staff are compliant on safety, training and health requirements.
B Degree / Tech in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification
At least 3 years’ experience on large projects greater than Rm100 and responsible for measurement, certification and contract management
Must have experience with FIDIC Red book/GCC/NEC or similar bespoke contracts
Registration as a Professional Quantity Surveyor with SACQSP
5 to 10 years’ experience in the Construction/Quantity Surveying field
1-2 years supervisory or staff management experience preferred
