ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

To maintain the brand strategy for the AVBOB Group
 Remain abreast of competitor and market activity and provide reports thereon
 Provide monthly reports on activities carried out in support of the maintenance of the brand
strategy
 Favourably position the brand amongst staff and external providers
 Awareness of the Group's policies and procedures, and the regulations relevant to your role.
 Apply strategic thinking ability regarding the implementation of the current strategy, writing of
briefs, media implementation and art direction.
 Monitor advertising and marketing initiatives to ensure that they support the achievement of the
Group's strategic goals.
 Accurate reporting on all projects to managers in the division
Create a world class infrastructure through good governance and sustainable practises
 Identify and implement systems to improve the effectiveness of the way in which the department
renders a service to stakeholders
 Identify new opportunities for the brand, whether related directly to advertising and marketing or
not.
 Participate in providing direction and driving the activities not necessarily related to advertising
Become innovative in the way we create communication strategies.
 Ensure that the three business divisions (Insurance, Funeral Services & Industries) work
together and maximise synergies.
 Defines and implement (demonstrate) operational goals in support of achieving the Group's
strategic objectives.
 Willingly provides guidance to subordinates within the Group Corporate Affairs department.
 Share knowledge and opportunities with all individuals in Group Corporate Affairs.
 Evaluate identified opportunities supplied by other departments within the Group and give

Build relationships with our stakeholders to improve customer proposition and
experience
 Planning, implementation and reporting on research initiatives.
 Build relationships with media and production suppliers with a view to support the
Group's objectives.
 Evaluate opportunities fairly and provide feedback in a professional manner.
 Consistently provide support to internal stakeholders (including branches and life
offices).
 Implementing clear and honest communication to external target markets.
Develop our people to deliver superior performance and thereby build a culture of
excellence through learning
 Involve subordinates in projects that will contribute favourably to the development of
the individual.
 Deliver clear instructions to avoid unnecessary costs and ineffective use of resources.
 Guide junior staff in understanding what is needed to develop effective advertising.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
 Bachelor's degree or industry relevant qualification would be an advantage
 Marketing experience.

Knowledge and Experience
 8 Years Marketing experience
 Computer literate

 Analytical skills and attention to detail.
 An understanding of trends and the ability to respond to customer needs.
 Creativity and an ability to produce innovative and original ideas.
 Team working skills.
 Ability to manage and allocate budgets.
 Ability to co-ordinate, track and reconcile all business partners invoices and
processing these for payment.
 Written and verbal communication skills.
 Experience with and an understanding of market research.
 Time and project management skills, including the ability to work on multiple
projects simultaneously.
 Ability to think strategically and develop appropriate campaigns
