The University of Namibia is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the vacant Director: University of Namibia Foundation position, Windhoek Main Campus. Five (5) year contract position.
The Incumbent will serve as an executive officer of the Foundation with primary responsibility for leading development and fundraising programs. Responsible for heading the Foundation, in respect of efficient management of the Foundation through formulation and execution of the Foundation and University of Namibia’s strategic and institutional goals. Responsible for oversight of the Foundation, which develops and maintain an ongoing multi-faceted fund development program that solicits funds for the operational, capital and endowments needs. Report and serve as secretary to the Board of Trustees. Compliance to relevant regulatory and legal requirements of a Section 21 company.
Stakeholder Engagement and Management - Responsible for building and maintaining close relations with internal and external stakeholder
Seeking Partnerships with likeminded Institutions and Organizations.
To maintain and manage the UNAM Foundation lawfully, with due diligence and in good faith. Oversees social accountability community outreach programs, by identifying need and coordinating supporting events for the Foundation and also serves as the point of contact for community sponsorship and donations. To mobilize funds and capital directly or indirectly; identify new donor bases, direct and coordinate solicitation of funds. Develop fundraising strategies, formulates solicitation policies and procedures, and oversees all fundraising within the scope of the Foundation. To create and sustain national and international networks and build relationships with persons and/or organizations who wish to associate with UNAM and its business. Overall accountability for strategic business operations, leadership, and supervision of all staff at UNAM Foundation; needs to attain Performance Targets as set out in the Performance Agreement and as required by the UNAM Foundation Board of Trustees.

A Masters degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field. Five (5) years working experience in an upper level managerial position. Proficiency in both written and spoken English; well acquainted with University funding trends such as philanthropic funding, both regionally and internationally. Proven track record of successful resource mobilization initiatives and ability to attract donations internationally.
