The following positions have become available in the Public Health Division and you are welcome to apply should you meet the requirements of the post.

PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE
•HCT services using ACTS/PICT model for new clients seeking HIV testing per day
•Adherence and follow up counselling
•Paediatric/adolescent/adult work up and treatment readiness
•Intervention with struggling/defaulting clients
•Group facilitation for club activities
•Health education and information (group based) on HIV/STI/TB and ART related issues in the waiting rooms of the clinics and/or at
community level.

TECHNICAL WORK RESPONSIBILITIES
•Ability to function under pressure
•Good interpersonal skills
•Basic administrative and time management skills
•Knowledge of clinic/facility rules and regulations
•Knowledge of the geographical area
•Good knowledge of HIV & AIDS/STI/TB a well as Treatment Adherence
•Knowledge of public health and community resources

YOU MUST HAVE:
Qualification/Professional Membership:
•High school diploma / Gr 12 or equivalent
•Basic counselling skills certificate (NQF Level 4 or equivalent)

Advantageous
•Proficient in Xhosa or other languages will be an advantage
•Proficient in both English & Afrikaans

Work Proven Experience:
•At least 2 years counselling experience
•Previous work experience in counselling is highly advantageous
