The University of Namibia is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the vacant Senior Lecturer position, Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Medicine, Department of Family and Community Medicine, Hage Geingob Campus.
Responsible for designing and delivering curricula within the specialty or subspecialty being family medicine/primary care for undergraduate and postgraduate education and training. These responsibilities include; developing syllabi, teaching family medicine, primary health care and public health, clinical training and managing academic programmes, engage in patient care, public/community health services, research, and publications. The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students, engaged in research activities/projects; service to the academic and wider community and perform any other duties as may be required.
A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBChB) from a recognized university or institution plus a Master's degree in Family Medicine (M.Fam.Med) or a Membership or Fellowship (MCFP or FCFP) from a recognized university or Collège of Medicine. Registered or registerable with the Heath Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA). Demonstrated at least three (3) years of teaching experience and at least five (5) years' experience in healthcare service delivery. A doctoral degree (PhD) in a medical discipline or a Master in Public Health (MPH) or qualification in Medical Education, as well as satisfactory record of research and publications will be an added advantage, but not a prerequisite.
