Purpose of the job:
Responsible for the management of Occupational Health services including Primary Health Care, dispensing, stakeholder engagement and providing ongoing reports and management of Clinical staff.
Main Role Outcomes:
•Ensure legal compliance and to manage health risk exposure by implementing the required programmes to maintain a proper Health system.
•Maintain a comprehensive Occupational Health, Primary Health and Wellness (Peer Educators) programme including biological monitoring register, occupational illness/disease register, chronic disease register.
•Maintain the Employee Assistance Programme Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation: Ensure that all Occupational Health reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines and schedules.
•Analyse Occupational Health (medical surveillance) and Primary Health (Chronic Disease/Illness) trends, compile report and provide feedback and recommendations
•Implement and Maintain an Injury Management Plan and reporting to relevant authorities Implement and maintain a Health Awareness Strategy
•Analyse and interpreted health related information and make recommendations to management where required.
•Implement and develop a health risk plan Collecting health related information using various methods
•Report on health according to stakeholder requirements Identify health hazards and risks in different processes
•Know and understand the different business processes and how it might interlink with one another
•Occupational Health qualification and at least 5 years’ experience in an Occupational Health environment.
•Audiometric qualification (with update in Instruction 171)
•Computer Literacy in Excel, Word, E-mail and Windows XP
•Registered with the SANC and SASOHN
•Good Communication Skills
•Own Transport essential
•A sense of urgency and business commitment.
•Positive attitude, drive, flexibility and a professional image in terms of appearance and conduct at all times
