The Training Coordinator Role
The Determined, Resilient, Empowered, Aids-free, Mentored and Safe (DREAMS) programme provides a comprehensive package of core interventions to address key factors that make adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) particularly vulnerable to HIV. These include structural factors, such as gender-based violence (GBV), exclusion from economic opportunities, and a lack of access to secondary school. DREAMS layers multiple interventions at once so that AGYW are surrounded with critical support to keep them safe from HIV and other risks.
The Training Coordinator position will support and deliver on NACOSA’s USAID funded Community-based Violence Prevention and Linkages to Response in SA Programme. The GBV Prevention element of this programme focuses on delivering both evidence-based group interventions to AGYW and adolescent boys (aged 15-19 years), as well as services to survivors of sexual violence (females aged 10-24 years).
One Training Coordinator will support the implementation of Stepping Stones and the other, the IMpower Programme.
NACOSA are looking for experienced Training Coordinators to deliver on the following key performance areas:
•Implement the overall logistics for a large portfolio of Stepping Stones/ IMpower Training Programmes in the City of Cape Town, which includes managing; bookings, travel arrangements, invitations, budgets, training related queries, fleet management, and payment of suppliers.
•Resource management which includes; ordering and management of stationary and materials as well as the printing, storage and dissemination of training materials.
•Administration which includes; filing of all programme documents and correspondence, record keeping of training, and the courier and postage of documents.
•Networking in order the maintain regular communication with key stakeholders in complementary fields.
Required qualifications, skills and experience
•Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration / Business Administration
•Attention to detail / accuracy / focus / ability to prioritise
•Good spoken and written English (good writing skills are critical as part of assessment reporting)
•Good team player; can handle pressure
•Able to work independently; unsupervised
•Good interactive skills (telephonically) with clients
•Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)
Remuneration will be competitive, based on skills and experience.
