BDO has a vacancy for an IFRS Technical Manager in our Financial Services Division.
The primary purpose of the IFRS Technical Manager role is assistance to providing technical accounting support to audit and advisory teams (internally) as well as developing material and presenting training to external clients.
Focus will be specifically on technical accounting matters impacting the Financial Services sector.

•Technical accounting consultations with audit teams/clients
•Qualified technical accounting staff/client training
•Communications regarding changes to IFRS methodology, tools, standards and procedures
•Assistance on implementation projects for new standards (advisory engagements)
•Monitoring of time charged to WIP codes for accounting projects/audit support provided to all teams
We are looking for candidates who would be:
•Able to make decisions regarding acceptable accounting treatment in fairly straightforward accounting queries
•Able to develop and put together accounting training material for review
•Frequent involvement of the IFRS Technical Accounting Senior Manager will be required in the first year
•Able to research new accounting standards and publications and summarise internal views and consultations
•B.Com Honours; CA (SA)
•1-2 years’ post-qualification experience.
•Experience in a technical accounting consulting role
•A sound knowledge of and exposure to all IASB accounting standards
•A wide general knowledge of legislation and regulations that could affect financial reporting
