Introduction
The Senior Developer contributes to the organisational goals through managed ownership and development and/or design of solutions architecture frameworks/roadmaps, enhances operational productivity through guidance/training, owning the governance and standards, making sure Operational delivery streams deliver responsive and cost effective solutions that enables business’s needs.

Specification
Responsible for complete solutions design, analysis and facilitate implementation roadmaps in conjunction with relevant internal stakeholders in order to ensure seamless delivery
On a continuous basis conduct a risk / impact analysis on current or proposed technologies and capabilities to mitigate risk and ensure stability and continuity
To proactively work alongside TTS Internal and / or Business stakeholders in order to identify technology solutions and capabilities which meet and improve operational and business requirements
To ensure efficient documentation and governance of architecture landscape
To ensure effective handover and understanding of designs and frameworks to project delivery and production support operations on an on-going basis
To proactively research and identify relevant technology and system design patterns to optimally address enterprise requirements and ensure continuous improvement
Provide specialised support and guidance to relevant internal stakeholders on system(s) and / or processes during change design and planning and acts as a subject matter experts that supports operational team
Drives short & long term architecture strategy and roadmaps for the overall IT project portfolio for key segments and solution domains (short term insurance, life insurance and insurance related products)
Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business and IT strategy
Communicates and validates program architecture with infrastructure team, software development team, project management team, and IT management team to ensure effective participation in the project management lifecycle
Establish successful working relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders
Close collaboration with IT Senior management
Deliver the Telesure Service Way through personal effort and through others
Deliver on Treating Customers Fairly principles in alignment with regulatory requirements
Own and drive the process of impact assessments for all and any change requests and or new projects
Work closely with the head of IT Security to ensure alignment of Infrastructure, applications, capabilities and IT Security
To support the operational teams with the planning of new Infrastructure initiatives on an on-going basis which will include IT Infrastructure architectural planning, design and rollout
To work alongside the TTS Project Management team to assist with the build and the deployment of Infrastructure according to the design on an on-going basis
To proactively work alongside the TTS Monitoring team and identify whether the deployed Infrastructure operates and meets with the original design parameters once implemented and address any possibly capacity constraints thereafter on an on-going basis
To mitigate Infrastructure risks (single points of failure, capacity constraints, security, etc.) and maintain the improvement list within Telesure’s current and newly implemented Infrastructure and propose solutions on an on-going basis
To work alongside the TTS Software development team so as to proactively identify hardware and network requirements for Telesure Business initiatives on an on-going basis
To provide support to the Enterprise Project Office by identifying infrastructure or process related improvements to ensure that new solutions are proposed and is effectively implemented as well as assist with the development and definition of business cases on an ad-hoc basis

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

Level of Education:

Essential:
•Recognized degree / diploma / certification
•Grade 12 (Standard 10) with University Entrance (NQF4)

Desirable:
•Certification in a IT industry standard framework like TOGAF, ITIL
•Project management certification (PMBOK / Prince2)

Experience:

Essential:
•10+ years’ experience in a production IT environment managing enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware, hosting service and network areas.
•2 years exposure to application development principles and support
•2 years exposure to ITIL disciplines
•2 year exposure to IT security disciplines
•Ability to write architectural design documents or review design documents provided by others.
•Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs.

Technical Experience:
•Mimix - Essential
•IBM MQ - Essential
•Aldon CMS- Essential

Desirable:
•If the above mentioned was within the Financial Services Industry

Knowledge of:
•ITIL disciplines (incident, change, capacity, demand, business continuity management etc)
•Understanding and knowledge of the alignment of IT and Business processes, goals and objectives
•Strong ability to communicate well in English orally and in writing.
