Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the successful candidate will be responsible for advising and assisting the CEO on technical matters as pertains to the strategic and business development focus of the Agency. The Strategic Manager, together with the CEO, will be responsible for (i) strategic initiatives and (ii) identifying and managing relationships with strategic stakeholders, which are deemed important for the growth and long-term sustainability of the organisation, especially given the space infrastructure hub (SIH) context.
Key areas of responsibility will include but not limited to:
•Providing support on technical issues to the CEO on matters relating to strategic projects;
•Building and maintaining relationships with investors, government, clients and stakeholders;
•Have a finger on the pulse of the industry, market and competitors, and communicate on issues relating to the industry;
•Assist the CEO in driving new strategic initiatives from conceptualisation to financial commitment phase.

The ideal candidate will have:
•A Bachelor’s Degree;
•Postgraduate Qualification in Business Management or similar MBA Degree would be advantageous;
•Experience in working with a range of stakeholders. Experience and understanding of the Aerospace Industry in South Africa;
•Experience in Project Management;
•A minimum of 10 years + experience in a similar position;
•Ability to communicate effectively with directors and senior managers;
•Skill in analysing and evaluating and packaging information;
•Excellent networking and relationship building skills;
•Ability to establish relationships with government and the private sector community;
•Experience and an understanding of high-tech strategic projects;
•Ability to research, write reports and produce supporting documentation.
