We are looking for a learning designer who will work alongside our dynamic team of academics to improve the learning experience of our existing programmes and facilitate the design of new programmes. At the same time, we are looking for someone who:

Specific responsibilities include:
•Analyse and apply developments and best practices from the science of learning, learning technologies, and instructional design
•Review existing learning experiences and propose areas for improvement
•Contribute to the planning of course enhancement, development and review
•Work with subject matter experts to clarify learning outcomes and objectives
•Curate, commission, design and develop engaging learning activities and compelling course content to achieve specific objectives.
•Project manage academic experts to improve or develop new course material to meet strategic business objectives.
Education & Experience Requirements
•A good understanding of online learning design methods, learning theories and practice and demonstrable experience of applying these concepts,
oExperience designing learning paths and resources, including storyboarding, scripting and developing content
•Ability to engage with stakeholders and scope learning requirements
•Experience in project managing teams with conflicting priorities to achieve operational objectives within agreed deadlines
•Excellent skills relating to writing, editing and layout in a variety of contexts including,
oAbility to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts
•A postgraduate degree in instructional design, education, or similar relevant field
•Be able to work outside an office
oA reliable home internet connection
oA suitable working environment
Nice to Have
•Basic HTML and CSS programming knowledge
•Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator)
•Experience with Authoring Tools and LMSs/ VLEs (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas)
Key Selection Criteria
•Understanding of the learners' perspective and ability to create learning appropriate for the audience
•Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models and a deep curiosity for the science of learning
•Insight into the relationship between assessment and learning and the ability to design meaningful assessments
•Excellent collaboration and project management skills
•Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
•Excellent organisational and time management skills & ability to work to deadlines
•Possess a strong attention to detail
•Highly independent, self-starter
