The purpose of the role is to develop and deliver the insurance product strategy and roadmap that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth of new revenue in accordance with the set strategic priorities across the Group.

Responsible Insurance P&L - end to end ownership of the Insurance product roadmap, from ideation through to execution

Provides leadership and support as a subject matter expert in insurance product initiatives

Delivers solutions in an agile away by writing user stories, acceptance criteria, planning delivery sprints and coordinating across the business with key stakeholders and other teams

Identifies opportunities and issues, formulating hypotheses, rapidly ideating, testing, delivering and iterating solutions to create a best in class product that exceeds customer expectations

Leads product launches including working with the marketing teams and other key stakeholders

Monitors and measures the success of insurance products

Leads the design or enhancement of product features and specifications, whilst working with internal (e.g. digital, IT, compliance, risk management) and external (e.g. vendors, partners) stakeholders and ensuring compliance to internal and external guidelines and/or regulatory requirements

Reviews and analyses company loss exposures, claims, and insurance needs and makes recommendations for treatment techniques to include insurance coverage

Sources and negotiates the best deals with underwriters

Builds and maintains relationships with our insurance partners

Conducts market opportunity analysis in order to identify solutions that can enhance Letshego’s current offerings

Works with cross-functional teams and product owners in executing the best insurance products for our users
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent with a post graduate certification in Insurance Management

A Master’s degree in business is an added advantage

Certificate of Proficiency (Short/Long Term Insurance

At least 15 years’ post qualification experience of which 5 years should have been in a senior management role, preferably in insurance or insurtech space in a multi-country setting in Africa

Demonstrated experience and expertise in driving rapid and successful partnership initiatives

Demonstrated track record in developing and managing digital insurance products

Demonstrated track record in identifying, driving and delivering on improvements to a digital customer experience within a financial services environment

Strong cross-functional experience across multiple business units and/or industries
