POSITION SYNOPSIS:

To ensure compliance to mine standards and COP's with regards to Strata Control.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Comply with and ensure adherence to safety regulations;

Adhere to corporate governance implementation;

Conduct Inspections of roof quality;

Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all underground workers;

Ensure and enforce compliance and adherence to legislative requirements;

Compliance with the Emergency Preparedness and Response requirements;

Ensure the effective management of contractors;

Ensure change management process is implemented and communicated;

Conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance to SAEC’s Rock Engineering specifications;

Analysis of trends (I.e. Safety, Cost, Production, People).

REQUIREMENTS:

Serious contenders will have a Degree / National Diploma in Geology / Mining or Civil Engineering and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Strata Control of which at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity;

CoM Strata Control Certification is essential;

Any one of the RMC Theory Paper is essential;

MSANIRE will be an added advantage;

Experience in mining methods, Mine planning, Shafts / Boxcuts are essential;

Computer literacy (MS Office suite and Bently Reader) is essential;

Experience in the preparation of learning material as well as the presentation thereof is essential;

National training certificate at least on NQF level 4 or higher will be an added advantage.
