The position became vacant due to a resignation.

Perform drug utilization review (DUR) on applications for chronic and PMB medicine according to accepted clinical protocols and formularies.

Register and update patient-specific Risk Equalisation Fund (REF) templates in accordance with REF entry and verification criteria.

Handle telephonic enquiries and amendments requested by doctors.

Handle enquiries received from Contact Centre consultants.

Handle medicine order requests.

Handle pre-authorisation of all medicine items.

Conduct research into the designated area of interest or expertise.

Give input on system developments and formularies.

BPharm degree.

Registration with the South Africa Pharmacy Council.

2 years applicable experience.

Previous experience in DUR will serve as a recommendation.

Computer literate in MS Office.

Knowledge of pharmacology, the Medicines and Related Substances Act, Pharmacy Act, Medical Schemes Act and the Regulations, e.g. PMB and algorithms for CDL conditions.
