Industries Insurance
Specification
Manage the company’s transformation journey including the implementation and
administration of both the employment equity and black economic empowerment
related legislation. Develop policies for promotion of diversity at all levels of the
company, lead support on the implementation of these policies and programs,
monitor progress and takes action when required.

Strategy Formation & Implementation
Assist with the development and implementation of the Transformation strategy
at TIH, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities, and ensuring
integration with wider functional strategy.
Review and ensure that the overall objectives of the intended Brand CSI
strategies are clear, measurable and strongly aligned with TIH CSI objectives.
Prepare and implement an employment equity plan and actions which will
achieve reasonable progress towards employment equity.

Regulatory & Compliance Management
Plan, lead and manage all activities of the regulatory/compliance function and
lead the design and implementation of the organization's compliance policy to
facilitate the overall assessment and sustainability of the established compliance
strategy while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
Compile and review the B-BBEE submission to the verification agency and
relevant regulatory bodies.
Adhere to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of
workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments. Address internal
grievances concerning the non-compliance by the employer with the provisions
of Act or the Employment Equity plan.
Support, monitor and improve the B-BBEE compliance of all TIH Business
Entities as required.
Ensure that Transformation practices, standards, procedures and methods are
reviewed, updated and applied.
Enforce the compliance effectiveness of the business units and pillar champions.

Stakeholder Engagement
Manage relationships with strategic internal and external clients and act as a
business partner to them, building high levels of professional credibility and
mutual trust and ensure that internal clients have access to high-quality advice
and guidance to support in delivering business strategy and plans.
Manage relationships with senior managers and senior government officials and
engage, collaborate, lobby and influence the Transformation activities with all
relevant stakeholders to drive the TIH Transformation agenda.
Ensure that the Diversity & Inclusion Committee is formed and functions
optimally.
In consultation with the various Board of Trustees review all grant making
programmes of TIH against the strategic objectives in order to determine
whether the programmes are aligned.
Identify synergies between TIH’s CSI initiatives, Skills Development and
Enterprise and Supplier Development in an effort to maximise on the Group
spend.

Policy Development & Implementation
Develop a comprehensive Transformation and EE policy framework for area of
responsibility or department. Take responsibility for creating underlying
procedures and monitoring their implementation.
Ensure proper document management of all the company transformation
activities and collation of plans.

Transformational Change Management
Design and deliver projects within a transformational change program, ensuring
integration with other disciplines/functions; build management commitment and
use structured change management methodologies to drive acceptance of
change and to embed desired culture and behaviours.
Manage key transformation projects and coordinate others, managing risks and
opportunities associated with transformational change and business process
reengineering, taking all steps to mitigate/exploit these to ensure that the
transformation programme is successfully delivered.
Ensure transformation support to all Business Entities of TIH through a
combination of project management and solutions development and ensure that
projects are scheduled to meet expectations of all stakeholders and cost-effectiveness.
Set up and conduct B-BBEE workshops with respective business entity as
required.

Corporate Social Responsibility/ Integrity
Manage the provision of a strategic CSR policy and services. Ensure the
delivering of the organization's CSR strategy and services, ensuring full
compliance and accountability.
Monitor the trends in development and social giving with a view to keeping
abreast of new developments in effective social investment.

Supplier Management
Monitor, review, and highlight any gaps in the performance of suppliers, to
recommend and ensure delivery of improvements by suppliers or to renegotiate
or change contract/supplier.
Through the relevant service providers develop and implement appropriate
monitoring procedures for all programmes included in TIH’s grant making
strategy.
Guide the relevant service provider in the preparation and presentation of TIH’s
annual programme report to TIH’s various Board of Trustees, setting out the
social investments made on behalf of TIH, beneficiaries reached and the work
conducted.

Information and Business Advice
Provide specialist guidance on EE and B-BBEE to the leadership team to guide
the implementation of policy and the design and implementation of projects and
change initiatives.

Budgeting
Manage budget plans for a department; could involve development or delivery
(or both).
Facilitate the payments of approved grant according to the approved schedules
in order for TIH to effect payment to the respective Beneficiaries.

Data Analytics and Insights
Utilize statistical information necessary to proactively assess employment trends
and to evaluate progress of designated employees within occupational levels.
Compile an Annual report which must be submitted to the Department of Labour
containing the prescribed information.
Report on progress against transformation plan and provide insights and
recommendations on how to improve the plan or project, to ensure
Transformation objectives are achieved.

Leadership and Direction
Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's
strategy and business plan within the business area or department; explain the
relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate
people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local
business goals.

Performance Management
Manage and report on performance within the department or area of
responsibility; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold
them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where
necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.
Requirements
A relevant 3-year Business or Social Sciences related degree / diploma
(Essential); Post graduate qualification e.g. Honours Degree (Advantageous)

General Experience
5 - 7 years working experience in either HR, Talent Management or Diversity
and Inclusion (Essential);
Fluent in underlying legislation particularly the Revised B-BBEE Codes of Good
Practice (2013), the BEE Act, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act
and other supporting legislation.
High level of numeracy enabling the interpretation the B-BBEE scores and what
they mean.
Financial understanding for the purposes of understanding the B-BBEE
scorecard.
Project Management and Change Management experience (Essential)
BEE Consulting or BEE audit experience (Advantageous)

Managerial Experience
3 or more years’ experience in managing teams in the Diversity & inclusion
portfolio (Essential)
