SBV is looking for a Senior Network Administrator/Senior Systems Administrator.

The primary responsibility of a Senior Network Administrator is to provide the technical expertise needed to support day-to-day operations. This
includes leading efforts to design, maintain and audit our rapidly growing network topology that must meet the needs of a challenging set of
development, operations, and business requirements.

The Senior Network Administrator has a very strong understanding of core networking concepts, experience instrumenting and monitoring network
devices along with knowledge of automating network configuration management.

The Senior Network Administrator will also be required to
provide technical guidance and support to the Network Administration Team.

Ensure Network & Server Uptime
•Ensure Maximum Uptime

Provide Technical 3rd line support
•3rd line support telephonically to SBV centres Provide Technical 3rd line support country wide
•Provide Server and Mail support of all users Nationally and Internationally.
•Provide Network Infrastructure Support Nationally and Internationally

Ensuring stability and availability of feedback/audit mail and internet connectivity
•Monitor system daily and apply defined policies to ensure adequate management of system resources
•Administers user profiles and access rights

Implementation and support of all networked peripherals
•Maintain planned maintenance schedule of all peripherals e.g. printers and scanners
•Provide feedback and recommends action in respect of capacity, lifecycle and cost benefits of equipment

Maintain relevant documentation and comply with company policies and procedures
•Maintain licence registers, asset registers, and files pertaining to user profiles and back-up registers.
•Maintain network diagram

Ensure that project deliverables are Progress report/Project document clearly defined in terms of business plans and user requirements, and delivered in terms of project management principles (e.g. in scope, on time, in budget)
•Manage projects on a continuous basis. Report of progress report/project deviation
Provide direction and guidance in respect of IT systems and architecture, infrastructure, resources, technology and documentation that supports the strategy of the business.
•Investigate, design and propose the implementation and upgrading of systems architecture, infrastructure and software solutions following best practice principles

Minimum Requirements:
5 – 8 years network management experience
Providing senior networking expertise to the IT Operations team.
Ensuring 24/7 availability of services and infrastructure in our production environment
Responding to after-hours IT emergencies, lead the mitigation and resolution processes.

Qualification:

Applicable Degree (i.e. BSc ICT),(IT Diploma)
IT Security Knowledge (certification),
Cisco Certification
Virtualization Technologies
Or Matric with 8 years Network management experience
