Introduction | Main purpose of the job To ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house and cloud information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc). The Senior Enterprise Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of ICT systems investments. Requirements | Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience •Relevant Diploma in IT or related fields •5 years’ experience in ooverseeing enterprise systems oAdministration of common server hardware architecture including servers (CPU, bus, memory), SANS, disk arrays, network hardware. oSolid understanding of operating systems (e.g., windows, UNIX/Linux,) including processes, files, memory management and I/O systems, distributed information systems including 2 and 3 tier designs, and web-based systems; networking services and protocols. oIn-depth knowledge of VMWare and SAN environment or any Hypervisor Desired Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience •Relevant Degree or B.Tech in IT or related fields Terms and Conditions ••Candidates will be recruited and appointed in accordance with the Employment Equity and Affirmative Action Programmes of the Central University of Technology, Free State. •The Central University of Technology, Free State reserves the right to conduct/employ a third party to conduct a background investigation in respect of all short-listed candidates. •Correspondence will be limited to short listed candidates only.
