University of Namibia herewith invites all qualified candidates to apply for the position of Assistant Lecturer: Occupational Therapy (Neuro-Development) in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation within the School of Medicine at Hage Geingob Campus.
Teaching Occupational Therapy students and assisting in module development; Neuro-development and especially the Bobath Techniques approaches to neuro developmental and neuro pathology interventions is an essential part of occupational therapy to transfer to students - Neuro-developmental techniques require highly specialized practical and clinical skills and will teach this to 2nd and 3rd year students. Engaging in clinical work at Windhoek Clinical Hospital and Katutura Intermediate Hospital, or outpatient clinics while supervising/coordinating of physical health and well-being of Neuro-developmental patients; Performing administrative duties; Work together with the colleagues of the Occupational Therapy Programme and the Department Coordinator to further the development of the Occupational Therapy Programme.
BSc degree in Occupational Therapy (Hons); preferably post-graduate neuro-developmental skills training course(s); be registered with HPCNA or registerable as an Occupational therapist. Preferably 2 years’ academic teaching and clinical teaching experience in a tertiary institution to under graduate students. Experience as clinical supervising/coordinator of physical health and well-being and Occupational performance and engagement specifically in Neuro-development and especially the Bobath techniques and approaches to neuro developmental and neuro pathology interventions.
